Argh, missed a day!

So today, we have two:

"Smile", featuring a rather antagonistic shape-shifting character of mine, who apparently took grinning lessons from The Joker.

And "Drink", which is a silly one-off joke featuring myself and a friend of mine.

Late again, d'oh. Today's is "Seeing Red". However, it is figurative because when the character in question is that angry, he sees in electric blue. This would by my superhero character Ampere, running on adrenaline, Righteous Fury™, and a power overload.

After staving off a bit of fever, managed to get this one done a little later. So, here we have "Are You Challenging Me?". This features an original pirate character of mine, Jacques.

So, there's this thing I've seen floating around the internet - a 100 theme challenge, that I've primarily seen used for art. Scant few I've seen have used it for writing prompts. Most artists I've seen attempt it try to do a big fancy piece for every one, do less than ten and tend to just forget about and sweep it away, never to be visited again.

So I figure I might give it a shot, doing at least a doodle a day - more if I feel compelled.

This will be a mix of fanart and original stuff, though I may lean more toward original.

Will be good practice!

Ah, what the heck.

Not Nerdy: Going to see The Dark Knight in theatres
Slightly Nerdy: Dressing up as the Joker for Halloween (Heath Ledger version)
Fairly Nerdy: Buying Batman comics other than Year One or The Dark Knight Returns
Nerdy: Dressing up as the Joker for Halloween (Cesar Romero version)
Really Nerdy: Writing Batman fan fiction
Dangerously Nerdy: Writing Batman fan fiction where he has sex with Alfred

Never bought a Batman comic, but read Emperor Joker in the bookstore before.

Not Nerdy: Seeing the movies
Slightly Nerdy: Owning a toy lightsaber
Fairly Nerdy: Learning to play the Cantina Song on your musical instrument of choice
Nerdy: Knowing in which "expanded universe" novel Admiral Ackbar dies
Really Nerdy: Membership in a Stormtrooper fan brigade
Dangerously Nerdy: Defending the idea of Jar Jar Binks

Don't talk crap about Jar-Jar. Or Gungans. The only other one I hit though is seeing the movies. I wish I had a lightsaber, though. :(

Not Nerdy: You read the books
Slightly Nerdy: You liked all of the books
Fairly Nerdy: You own a wand
Nerdy: You read fanfic that "fixes Rowling’s mistakes"
Really Nerdy: You are a fan of "wizard rock"
Dangerously Nerdy: You have an alternate "Hogwarts persona"

N/A, don't care for HP in the slightest.

Not Nerdy: "They still make that? I played it when I was in high school for a bit, but never got into it."
Slightly Nerdy: "Yeah, it was fun, but I couldn’t keep up with all the expansions so I sold my cards."
Fairly Nerdy: "Do you mind if I use a proxy for Nicol Bolas? I mean, he’s forty bucks"
Nerdy: "You haven’t really played this game until you play draft; it’s how the game is meant to be played."
Really Nerdy: "Okay, if we’re all supposed to be planeswalkers, how come there are planeswalker cards? Am I Ajani? I don’t feel like a lion-man."
Dangerously Nerdy: "I’ve tested this deck against all comers and now all I need is to win free airfare and I’m on my way to the World Championships in Tokyo."

N/A, don't care for Magic either.

Not Nerdy: Recognizing the name "Cthulhu"
Slightly Nerdy: Knowing the proper pronunciation of "Cthulhu" (EDIT: k’too-loo, for those wondering)
Fairly Nerdy: Owning a Cthulhu plushie
Nerdy: Running a Call of Cthulhu campaign
Really Nerdy: Organizing a chapter of the Campus Crusade For Cthulhu
Dangerously Nerdy: Actually reading any of Lovecraft’s stories

Does having seen "The Collect Call of Cthulhu" episode of The Real Ghostbusters count for anything?

Not Nerdy: Lost
Slightly Nerdy: Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Fairly Nerdy: Battlestar Galactica
Nerdy: Stargate: Atlantis
Really Nerdy: Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog
Dangerously Nerdy: The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Never saw anything else on the list (And never heard of Brisco), but why is Dr. Horrible on there? It wasn't on television...

Not Nerdy: The Next Generation
Slightly Nerdy: Deep Space Nine
Fairly Nerdy: the one where Picard rides a dune buggy
Nerdy: any of the novels
Really Nerdy: owning a phaser
Dangerously Nerdy: speaking fluent Klingon

I do want to see DS9. Only seen a few episodes, so I'm not counting it.

Not Nerdy: Macs
Slightly Nerdy: Knowing how to use Windows rather than just knowing “how to do emails”
Fairly Nerdy: Knowing the actual reasons Windows sucks
Nerdy: Anything to do with Linux
Really Nerdy: Getting all of the coding jokes in XKCD
Dangerously Nerdy: "I’m bringing BeOS back!"

I'm fairly good with XP. I don't cross into 1337 territory, but I know a good deal more than the average person. I guess I kinda bridge the gap, or something. Tried a Mac once, and hated using it. Never seen or used Linux.

So I had this dream where I was in some kind of oppressive setting. Well, there was some cracky stuff mixed in, but the general setting was some kind of campus. I'm guessing it was a place where stuff was assembled. Big factory-type building in the center, with dormitory-like buildings surrounding it. The atmosphere was one of dread and fear. The place and people all looked rather washed out, like it was lacking in color. Mostly greys and browns. (If anyone's played Resident Evil 4, it looked similar to the village you start out in, colorwise.) Not really run-down, but not in tip-top condition. There was a military force that stayed there to keep us in line. I think a number of us were planning to start a rebellion. Our plan would take a week to implement, as the guards would stay in each dorm for a week before rotating to the next one, with one squad having the week off. Whether there was a squad to guard the general campus, I don't know. The plan was to take out each squad in each building before the week was over, using their weapons to turn on our keepers. However, this didn't come to fruition in my dream. I don't think it even got started.

I remember that someone had died, and there was a funeral for the person, though something seemed off... A short time later, a number of us were in another building, and a cart crashes through the door, and into the back area of the building. It was carrying something that was on fire, and smelled really, really bad. Apparently the funeral was a sham, and someone had "misbehaved" to show the rest of us... as then we heard gunfire, and then I woke up. o.O

I got this from [ profile] invisiblemoose.

Comment on this post and I will choose seven interests from your profile. You will then explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. You can post this along with your answers to your own journal if you like so that others can play along.

Dr. Strange - The Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel Universe. The guy who is often called to fix interdimensional mystical clusterhugs. Rather witty fellow. Plus, without him, we wouldn't have Dr. Byron Orpheus.

Toy collecting - Toy robots, I collect them. Mostly Transformers. :D

David Crowder Band - Really awesome Christian rock band with a lot of fun songs.

Fantasy stories - While my love for the giant robots is prevalent, I still enjoy romps in the middle ages with swords and magic and dragons and short guys that say funny stuff from time to time.

Scott McCloud - Writer who wrote some great books that analyze comic books, how they work, why they can do what they do, their cultural impact, and just why they're awesome in general. And those books? Done in comic style. :D

Romantic stories - I am a sappy sap who likes sappy stories. (Yet I hardly ever touch fanfic. Weird...)

Ska music - Put this up since Five Iron Frenzy, one of my favorite bands, is classified as ska. Using brass and woodwind instruments alongside the traditional guitar, bass, and drums is awesome. So is some social commentary. :)

Update, August 6th.

[ profile] beckyh2112 did this, so I decided to comment. Time for Round Two!

AnRyu - One of the two female Docking Robos from King of Braves: GaoGaiGar FINAL. AnRyu is the "Dark Dragon" to her sister's "Light Dragon" (KouRyu. All the Docking Robos have X-Ryu as their name.) AnRyu's nifty 'cause she carries around a big honkin' fold-out missile battery on her back.

Hinata Hyuuga - Character from Naruto. I'm not as into Naruto as I used to be, but Hinata's one of my favorite charactes. A real underdog worth rooting for. Being adorable helps, too, heh.

Venom - ...he's freakin' Venom.

Alt Eisen - A mech from the Super Robot Wars game series. One of my favorite designs ever. It's big. It's tough. It's red. And it has a ginormous stake mounted on the right arm, powered by a revolver mechanism. :D

Elves - Just a general fascination with them that comes with liking Fantasy stuff.

Five Iron Frenzy - Christian Ska band I discovered shortly after they broke up. Awesome sound, and a great balance of silly songs, social commentary songs, and worship songs. Arguably my favorite band.

Ghost Rider - Flamey-skull headed guy who runs around dishing out justice. Interest is partly genunine and partly memetic. (Whenever a poll comes up on a certain spam forum I hang out at, it's an unspoken rule that Ghost Rider is to always be an option.)

Country Music - The first genre of music I ever got into listening to, as I found it to be the only music that had lyrics one could understand. (At the time. I've since expanded horizons.)

Cannonball - Transformer pirate with day-glo skeletons and skulls on his armor, need I say more? And a 'black repaint' that wasn't Scourge!

Romantic Stories - ...truth be told, I'm a big sap at heart. >.> Love a good love story.

Toys - Some people collect stamps, or turtles, or who-knows-what. I collect toys. Vast majority being robot-related...but there's a scant few that aren't. :D

Robots - And we come to the robots. They're awesome. Transforming ones, supers, reals, giant, small...

Mic Sounders the 13th - Best comic relief mech ever, and awesome for using rock and roll as a weapon.

Deadpool - Coolest superhero ever. Got a wit Peter Parker only dreams of.
